01 / PROBLEM STATEMENT

Why this work exists

Commercial records for clients, suppliers, products, stock, orders, quotations, and invoices needed to operate as one connected system rather than as isolated lists and manual handoffs.

Data and source material

  • PostgreSQL entities for clients, suppliers, products, variants, stock, orders, quotes, invoices, and administrators
  • Many-to-many supplier/product relations and line-item records
  • Role records for SuperAdmin, Admin, and Employe access

02 / SOLUTION OVERVIEW

From input to usable output

I designed linked modules around shared business entities. Quotes become orders; orders feed invoices; variants connect suppliers and stock; dashboards expose operational state to appropriate roles.

  1. 01

Create and maintain shared commercial master data

  2. 02

    Convert quotations into orders

  3. 03

Generate invoices from orders and export PDFs

  4. 04

Track stock and surface low-stock conditions

  5. 05

    Expose role-appropriate dashboards and administration

04 / METHODOLOGY & IMPLEMENTATION

Decisions that shape the system

  • Next.js App Router provides both application pages and API routes.
  • Prisma expresses relational constraints and protects queries from raw SQL injection.
  • NextAuth JWT sessions and explicit roles gate operating capabilities.
  • The domain model keeps quote → order → invoice and supplier → product → stock relationships explicit.

Implemented capabilities

  • Client and supplier management
  • Product variants, stock and low-stock alerts
  • Orders and line-item workflows
  • Quotes with conversion into orders
  • Invoices generated from orders with PDF export
  • Role-based administration and dashboards

05 / RESULTS & EVIDENCE

What the source supports

  • The system is documented as being used by a real company.
  • Six core operating areas are connected in the delivered application.
  • No unsupported efficiency or revenue metric is claimed.

Results preserve the repository’s units, evaluation framing, and stated limitations. Missing evidence is not converted into a claim.

06 / CHALLENGES & LIMITATIONS

Where the evidence stops

  • The repository is proprietary and public documentation does not expose company records.
  • Deployment requires private PostgreSQL and authentication configuration.
  • Operational impact has not been published as a measured before/after study.

07 / WHAT THIS DEMONSTRATES

Engineering signal

Business-process modelling, relational application design, access control, and end-to-end delivery of an operational management system.
